Eddie Jones will be sacked as England head coach on Tuesday and replaced by Steve Borthwick, after the RFU's post-autumn inquest decided that the Australian's position is untenable.
The 62-year-old took part in a meeting with his RFU bosses and the secretive review panel on Monday afternoon.
And Sportsmail understands that they have resolved to remove him from his post after seven years in charge of the national team.
Sources indicated that the recommendation was due to be put to the union council on Monday night and the board on Tuesday, to be ratified. An announcement on the abrupt end of Jones's regime is expected on Tuesday afternoon, once the full process has been concluded.
